By the end of the third quarter, the Girona side seemed to have the win under control, but mistakes in the final minutes and Gernika’s dominance on the offensive rebound gave the visitors a lifeline, quickly closing the gap to under 10 points in the last period (62-54). Finally, decisive points from Bibby and free throws from Caldwell and Lundquist helped Uni secure their fifteenth victory in the LF Endesa.
Spar Girona’s fast transition game earned them the first points of the match through Bibby and Klara (4-2). In the blink of an eye, Gernika responded with a 6-0 run thanks to two consecutive three-pointers from Olaeta (4-10). However, Touré and Bibby also struck from long range, tying the game at 10. With the score level, both teams fought to impose their rhythm, turning the game into a constant exchange of baskets (points from Lundquist, Bibby, and Pierre-Louis, 15-15) until a three-pointer from Chloe and a basket from Pierre put Spar Girona ahead (20-15).
