This morning, the Girona Fontajau Municipal Pavilion hosted the presentation of a new edition of the values program of the Gironès Sports Council: La Grada Suma “with values we always win”.
The program, which is already more than consolidated, this year reaches its 11th edition thanks to the Girona City Council and with the collaboration of three relevant sports entities in the Gironès region, Spar Girona, Girona Futbol Club and Bàsquet Girona.
Àdam Bertran, councilor for sports and youth of the Girona City Council, welcomed the presentation event, celebrating being able to bring together all the parties involved in La Grada Suma. The councilor highlighted the potential of the program by developing it mainly in the city’s high-complexity educational centers.
From the point of view of sports entities, the importance of being an active part of the stands has been highlighted, and as Laia Palau from Spar Girona has pointed out, families must be an example of the behavior of the stands. Delfí Geli from Girona FC, has highlighted the positive impact of La Grada Suma, which is why year after year, they remain committed to the program. Finally, Stefi Batlle from Bàsquet Girona has highlighted the importance of maintaining a sportingly rich Girona territory, demonstrating that sport is a very valuable educational tool.
The upper primary school students of the Domeny school had the opportunity to exchange a few words with the authorities in attendance and, in particular, with Ainhoa López, the guest athlete from Spar Girona, about the values that define her as an athlete and how the stands live from the pitch.
Maria Sànchez i Canaleta, president of the Gironès Sports Council, highlighted that in this eleventh edition, 5,000 participants will be reached in La Grada Suma, a figure that she considers very significant and that shows the consolidation of the program. She encouraged all the students participating in the program to attend the event that will pit Spar Girona against Spar Gran Canaria this coming Sunday to demonstrate that an active and positive stand is key and necessary.
